We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The prices were not terribly stiff, either, especially considering you're within walking distance of Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace. One word of warning, though - if you have difficulty climbing narrow, steep stairs this may not be the place for you. My hubby and I went to London in Sept 2005 and we stayed at a lovely B&B in Belgravia called Cartref House.

Fancy fancy fancy, it is in Mayfair just a few blocks from Bond Street and Old Bond Street which have all the most expensive stores in London. If you want to stay in Central London, they have plenty to choose from. Hilton Hyde Park is a fine option.
